Visit Our Museum

The Chilean Print and Minting House has the privilege of being the country’s oldest institution, and we would like to share its history with you.

We invite you to visit our Museum

museoSince the Museum’s inauguration on October 21, 2004, we have been trying to connect the Chilean Print and Minting House with society. We have recieved visits from distinguished figures who have been amazed by the fabulous collection of Banknotes and Coins of the institution, as well as from hundreds of young people who have toured the institution and observed our factory’s production process first-hand. The Chilean Print and Minting House’s need to respond to public demand was one of the motivating factors in the creation of the Museum. It brings together collections of great historical value and attempts to use money as an education tool, through the various selections, designs, and materials. Thanks to this, we can see the cultural changes that have occurred in Chile from the Colonial Period to today. The Museum has 14 displays, 12 of which show the monetary history of Chile and 2 of which are dedicated to the production and stamping process. The Chilean Print and Minting House also has a Monetary museum where you can find priceless unique pieces, such as Coins, Medals and Plaques that have been given to distinguished individuals who have visited our country.
