New $100

- Description
- It is shaped like a circle.
It is made up of two parts joined together, made with metal alloys of different colors and chemical makeup. These parts are called the ring and the nucleus.
This aspect gives it greater security against possible counterfeiting.
On the obverse, the face of a Mapuche woman is situated at the center of the nucleus, with the mint mark to the right in the nucleus, and with the phrase “REPÚBLICA DE CHILE” along the upper part of the ring.
The lower part of the ring contains the phrase “PUEBLOS ORIGINARIOS”. To the left of the figure there is the word “Mapuche” in small letters.
On the reverse in the center of the nucleus there is the National Coat of Arms and below it, the year of issue, the number “100” and the word “PESOS” superimposed with the ring, which is lined with laurels.
This coin entered into circulation in the year 2001.
